Episode 87b (Season 7, episode 11b), "Princess and the Pig" (PATP) is currently the only episode from the 1983 Alvin and the Chipmunks cartoon not available in its original English format. The episode aired on December 2, 1989 alongside its sister episode "The Return of Uncle Adventure". PATP was the second segment in the half hour block. While "The Return of Uncle Adventure" has been archived in its original English fromat (albeit in poor quality) PATP is only available through the German, Italian, and Spanish dubs. The Italian dub is currently available to watch with English subtitles on our Youtube channel. Currently, the only pieces of the original English version that are available are the original title card and the episode's song, "Country Feelin'".
The second half of season 6 and the etirety of seasons 7 and 8 of the 80s cartoon were never put into syndication in the USA. Which means these episodes only aired on NBC a handful of times in the late 1980s before disappearing from broadcasts, making recordings from NBC incredibly rare. However, other countries such as the UK and Australia reran these episodes throughout the 1990s, meaning an English copy could be pulled from there. The UK aired the series on the channel CBBC and Australia aired it on ABC. The currently available Italian dubbed version of PATP was ripped from a retail VHS. However, no English retail VHS releases of this episode are known to exist.

These new song uploads will have dialogue and sound effects removed and will be cleaned up to sound as close to the album released songs as possible. 65 YEARS IN A NUTSHELL: YEAR ONE
This is the most recent video from the official AATC youtube channel. In this video Ross Bagdasarian Jr. tells the story of how Alvin and the Chipmunks came to be.
In an article released by Billboard on December 1, 2023 Ross Bagdasarian Jr. stated the following:
“And here we are, almost 50 years later, trying to come up with the next new idea for Alvin and the Chipmunks, from TV shows to movies to another TV series that we just finished last year."
This confirms that ALVINNN!!! and the Chipmunks ended its production sometime in 2022. Its final episode, "The Tour", was released in France and Canada in December 2022, and in the USA in March 2023. Seasons 6 and 7 have been scrapped. It's unknown whether or not any production was done on them. With this, the AATC franchise is currently in limbo. No one knows when new content will be released. It's also unknown if they will continue with the ALVINNN gen designs or go with a full reboot. As soon as news is announced for what direction this franchise will be going, we will share it.
What does this mean for ChipmunkMania? Well, our focus is shifting from keeping up with and releasing new content, to archiving and restoring already existing content. Our main focus will be on the 60s and 80s gens, uncovering whatever lost media we can find. Once the Youtube channel has been rebuilt to its former glory, updates to it won't be as frequent.
